Faculty/Staff
The University Center Administrative Office is located in Room UCG 102 in the lobby area. Our hours of operation for the 2009-2010 year are from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Requests for Audio Visual Equipment
Each classroom has been furnished with a television, VCR, and overhead projector. If you need additional equipment, call Jay Dugaw at 250-1111.
Parking and Handicapped Access
Students may park in the main parking lot at the front of the building. The entire mall is handicapped accessible. If you have a handicapped student who has additional needs, call Jay Dugaw at 250-1111.
Class Cancellations
In the case of inclement weather, please watch the local TV announcements for cancellations. We will also have a recorded message at 250-1111. Should an emergency make it necessary for you to cancel a class on very short notice, please notify the University Center office at 250-1111 so that we can arrange for your students to be informed as they arrive at the Center.
Library
The Library has many online resources that are available to you and your students through the Internet and Telnet connections. The Library offers an Internet Orientation class to students who have no experience or very little experience in searching the Internet and online databases. If you would like to have an Internet class designed for the specific needs of your students, please let us know. We can arrange a time and date to suit their schedule.
Computer Labs and Computer/Interlibrary Permit for Students
If you will be using a computer lab for your class, please read the software policy. The University Center Library will make available to your students a University Center Interlibrary and Computer Permit Card that will enable them to access the internet and utilize the library holdings of any of the Center’s member institutions. Some restrictions may apply to library services available to the University Center students at some library locations. In order to issue user cards for our facility, we must have a copy of your class roll. Fifty-two computers are available for students’ use in the Library located on the first floor of the University Center in Room 141 on the main hallway. Also, students can go to Greenville Tech’s Computer Valley located in the TRC on the main campus (hours same as library). The University Center Interlibrary and Computer Permit Card is required. This card must be obtained in person at the Library, room 141. The cards are non-transferable and good for one semester only.

Please inform your students that children should not be brought to class or left unattended in the building.

Scheduling
- An institution which purchased and installed distance education equipment (hereafter called the &ldqou;priority institution&rdqou;) will have priority class scheduling privileges of that equipment. The following stipulation will apply: &ldqou;Priority institution&rdqou; must supply the UCG with their scheduled classes 12 weeks in advance of any academic semester. After that date, the conditions in # II apply.

Other consortium members can use the rooms and distance education equipment when not scheduled by the "priority institution." The following stipulations will apply:
- Requests will be considered on a first come-first served basis. However, courses in direct support of a UCG degree program will receive priority. All course requests should be submitted 12 weeks before any academic semester. Each institution will then be notified of room availability.
- Arrangements for any line charges, equipment, or technical support fees incurred by the requesting institution must be clarified in writing with the "priority institution."
Proctoring

Jay Dugaw, Evening Program Coordinator, can distribute and collect tests. He cannot remain in a class during a testing period due to ongoing duties in the building.
Instructional Support
Institutions offering distance education are responsible for advising their faculty of the technology requirements and abilities of the Center. Instructional support is the responsibility of the offering institution. The institutional development staff on each campus should be available to faculty as needed. It will be the responsibility of the home institution to schedule time with the D.E. Technician at the University Center to familiarize faculty with the UCG facility including its capabilities and/or limitations. Institutions should be responsible for assuring that their equipment is operable and compatible for transmission and reception.
